Helen Wilson
Helen Wilson is the founder of Learn Practice Love, a space created to help people reconnect with themselves through movement, creativity, and sound.
Helen completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Dance at Macquarie University, where she discovered a deeper way of experiencing dance. Rather than simply following choreography, her studies explored movement as a way to truly understand the body—how it moves, how it feels, the energy it creates, and how we connect with the space and people around us. This freedom to explore movement and contribute creatively in group exercises sparked a lasting love for expressive dance.
Over time Helen realised there were very few places for adults to dance that weren’t strictly choreographed technique classes or late-night dance floors. Wanting to create something different, she developed her PLAY classes—a space where people can move freely, think creatively with their bodies, and release energy in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The relaxation side of Helen’s work grew from her own personal journey. After 11 years working in real estate, she often found it difficult to switch off from the constant pace and pressure of the day. It was during a visit to the Pyramids of Chi in Bali that she experienced a deep sense of calm through sound meditation. This moment revealed the powerful effect sound and vibration can have on the nervous system.
Through Learn Practice Love, Helen now brings together movement, breath, and sound to create classes that help people slow down, reconnect, within the intention to shine the light that has always been within oneself.
